This temporary part time position with the City of Markham focuses on basic fundamental movement skills through basketball. You will develop group-specific lesson plans, review them with recreation leadership, and evaluate participant progress. The work includes guiding volunteers, communicating with parents, and responding to customer inquiries. Candidates need basketball instruction experience, safety credentials, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop group-specific basketball lesson plans
Review and submit lesson plans as required
Meet parents before or after classes




Guide volunteers and part time Program Assistants
Report customer service concerns to supervisors

Requirements:
Minimum two years’ combined basketball instructional experience
Experience working with children or adults
Standard or Intermediate First Aid certification with CPR C and AED
High Five Certificate and Healthy Child Development knowledge
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
