Provide cardiac nursing at The Ottawa Hospital using cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation skills across day and evening shifts. This temporary position continues until approximately September 1, 2027.
The Registered Nurse supports general patient care in the Cardiac Day Unit. The position applies the nursing process, assesses learning needs, plans teaching, and communicates with patients, colleagues, and health professionals. Work occurs autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities: Apply the nursing process in the clinical setting
Provide general patient care within the unit
Assess patient learning needs and plan appropriate teaching
Communicate effectively with patients and health professionals




Participate actively in departmental education activities
Requirements: Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Ability to perform BCLS to College of Nurses standards
English and French oral and comprehension proficiency, level four
Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation preferred
Two years of medical surgical experience preferred
Use cardiac monitoring, patient teaching, and multidisciplinary communication skills as a Registered Nurse at The Ottawa Hospital.
