This Shaft and Hoisting Systems Engineer provides engineering oversight for drum and friction hoists, conveyances, wire ropes, braking systems, and controls. The position supports structural integrity, maintenance reliability, and critical mine asset improvements. Work includes collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical oversight for shaft and hoisting systems
Support shafts, headframes, guides, buntons, and infrastructure
Review designs, modifications, upgrades, and technical specifications
Oversee inspections, testing, maintenance programs, NDT, and rope testing




Investigate failures and recommend reliability improvements

Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical, Mining, or related Engineering discipline
Qualified Engineer designation or APEGS registration eligibility
Experience with shaft infrastructure and hoisting systems
Knowledge of mining regulations and hoist equipment
Robust communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills
