This Casual chance with Fraser Health is based at Bella Coola General Hospital within Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services. The Pharmacy Assistant works under general supervision to measure, package, compound, and distribute medications. The position also supports inventory control, quality assurance records, and department organization.
Key Responsibilities: Fill patient-specific and non-patient-specific medication containers
Distribute medications to patient care units as directed
Validate wardstock selection accuracy and document reviews
Identify outdated drugs using lot expiry dates
Stock pharmaceuticals, labels, containers, and glassware
Requirements: Grade 12 and recognized Pharmacy Assistant course
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience considered
Ability to communicate and deal effectively with others
Ability to type and organize work
Ability to operate related equipment
Use dispensing, compounding, wardstock, and quality documentation skills to contribute to pharmacy care at Bella Coola General Hospital.
