Analyze renewable energy investments with Excel, VBA, valuation, and financial modelling skills in Calgary at Horizon Current Energy.
As a Business Analyst, you will evaluate wind, solar, and energy storage projects across Canada. Develop project analysis, business cases, and commercial offtake assessments supporting RFPs, acquisitions, financing, and approvals. Work with Horizon’s Calgary team and CIP’s New York Investment team.
Key Responsibilities: Run pro forma models and structuring sensitivities independently
Prepare business cases using analytical and industry research
Review PPAs and support Canadian RFP responses
Analyze electricity markets, scenarios, and sensitivities
Prepare Steering Committee and Board presentations
Requirements: At least two years of complex financial modelling experience
Renewable energy experience or willingness to learn
Strong Excel, VBA, valuation, and DCF knowledge
Experience preparing detailed PowerPoint presentations
Degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field
Bring analytical judgment, project finance understanding, and independent execution to Horizon’s Canadian renewable energy portfolio.
