This Assistant Overnight Guide position supports 2027 tours across Northern Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, and the Outstanding Bear Rainforest. You will follow lead-guide direction on base camp trips while helping deliver safe wilderness experiences. Responsibilities include camp meals, shore activities, equipment care, and guide training.
Key Responsibilities: Support lead guides during base camp and expedition tours
Run guest orientation meetings before departures
Teach kayaking skills and maintain guest safety
Lead camp meals and on-shore activities
Prepare, clean, and store gear after trips
Requirements: Advanced Wilderness First Aid, 40-hour minimum
ROC-M and Class 5 driver’s licence minimum
Outgoing style engaging diverse guests
Excellent organization and teamwork abilities
Availability from late May through early October
Use expedition guiding, safety, communication, and camp-operation strengths while developing skills alongside experienced Level 2 and Level 3 guides.
