iPolitics is seeking a general news reporter focused on Parliament and federal politics. You will regularly file stories, write e-newsletters, attend events, and communicate with the senior editorial team. Candidates should understand Canadian politics deeply and have experience creating high-quality articles on political issues.
Key Responsibilities: Cover parliamentary debates and committee hearings
Report elections and leadership races as assigned
Participate in scrums and press conferences
Write and distribute e-newsletters regularly
Use social media to build audience and disseminate stories
Requirements: Political reporting experience
Solid knowledge of federal politics and Parliament
High-quality political writing experience
Self-starter approach to developing sources
Ability to work hybrid in Ottawa, three days in office
