Prepare nutritious daycare food as a part-time Kitchen Assistant at Yonge Street Mission’s Davis Centre in Toronto. Support children’s daily meals.
This 16-hour-per-week position combines kitchen duties with one hour covering staff meetings. You will work alongside staff and children while building relationships with staff, parents, and children. Healthy food supports children’s growth and development at the daycare.
Key Responsibilities: Heat food and assemble snacks for classroom delivery
Cut fruits and vegetables and portion food
Accommodate children with special dietary needs
Maintain temperature logs and protected food storage
Wash dishware and maintain cleaning schedules
Requirements: Post-secondary education and Food Handler Certification
CPR and First Aid certification
Good written and oral English communication skills
Interpersonal, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
Minimum age eighteen and availability for 16 hours weekly
Bring food safety, communication, and kitchen organization skills to support healthy meals at YSM’s Davis Centre Daycare.
