Provide evidence-based mental health care as an Occupational Therapist at Peter Lougheed Centre, supporting adults on an inpatient psychiatry unit.
This Occupational Therapist I position serves Unit 25, Inpatient Psychiatry, within the Addictions and Mental Health Program. You will assess and treat acute mental illness, facilitate groups, and develop care plans with the multidisciplinary team. Your practice includes occupational performance, functional assessment, discharge planning, and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities: Assess and treat patients experiencing acute mental illness
Facilitate walks, milieu activities, and psychoeducation groups
Develop, implement, and evaluate cooperative plans of care
Complete functional and mental health-based assessments




Coordinate discharge referrals and participate in care conferences
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists
One year adult acute care addictions and mental health experience
One year group facilitation or adult presentation experience
Knowledge of de-escalation, psychotropic medications, and risk assessments
Apply occupational therapy expertise, group facilitation, and clinical assessment skills within Peter Lougheed Centre inpatient psychiatry.
