Comox Valley Animal Hospital has an opening for a full time veterinary assistant .
:
Assist veterinarians and RVTs during examinations and procedures
Assist RVTs before, during and after surgery
Provide safe, low-stress animal handling and restraint
Monitor and care for hospitalized and surgery patients, including feeding and walking
Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, treatment areas, surgery and kennels
Support client communication, including admissions and discharges
Clean and sterilize surgical instruments
Help ensure a clean safe, and organized clinical environment
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting not required but recommended
Grade 12 equivalent
Animal Care Aid certificate not required but recommended
Comfortable handling both dogs and cats
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Dependable, punctual, and professional
