We are seeking a part‑time Evergreen Kitchen Assistant at the Yonge Street Mission‑Evergreen location for 30 hours per week (4 days/week). This is a 1‑year contract position, with the possibility of extension. The kitchen is a major reason youth value our space as we provide nourishment for them in the journey. The primary role is to assist the Evergreen Kitchen Coordinator in all tasks involved, so that the cook can provide daily meals to our community members. Receiving and lifting of daily deliveries, cleaning dishes, organizing pantry, and serving meals. Cultivate excellent working relationships with community members, staff, food donors and suppliers
- foster cooperation, effective communication and unity of purpose between food services programs and other Evergreen Services programs. Maintain a clean, welcoming, user‑friendly efficient kitchen workplace, which is used by multiple groups. Good English communication skills, both oral and written. With self‑initiative and ability to work independently or with less supervision. Must be 18 years old or older and able to commit to 30 hours a week. Food Handler Certification is a requirement.
