As a Building Consultant, you independently assess building conditions, prepare defensible reports, and provide technical and cost advice. The work involves residential, multi-family, and small commercial buildings, with assignments typically involving losses up to approximately $1 million in construction value.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct independent inspections following fire, water, flood, storm, and hail losses
Document conditions using photographs, measurements, drawings, notes, and digital tools
Develop and validate remediation, repair, restoration, and reconstruction scopes
Prepare estimates, quantity take-offs, cost plans, and cost analyses




Communicate recommendations to insurers, adjusters, owners, contractors, and consultants
Requirements: Five to ten years of relevant industry experience
Experience with residential, multi-family, and small commercial buildings
Knowledge of assemblies, construction methods, repair techniques, and costs
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, scopes, and contractor pricing
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to loss locations
Apply building inspection, estimating, and property-loss consulting expertise while advising EllisDon clients on repair scope and cost.
