Operate municipal parks, trails, open spaces, and arena facilities for the Municipality of Meaford using equipment and maintenance skills. This full-time permanent position includes scheduled and unplanned work.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks, Trails and Open Spaces, the Operator supports community services across seasonal operations. Duties include grass cutting, snow removal, ice resurfacing, equipment monitoring, facility maintenance, event setup, and repairs. Weekend, evening, emergency, on-call, and after-hours response may be required.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain municipal parks, trails, open spaces, facilities, and equipment
Operate tractors, trucks, excavators, utility vehicles, and attachments
Perform grass cutting, trail grooming, snow removal, and de-icing




Resurface ice and monitor arena refrigeration equipment
Complete logs, work orders, accident reports, setups, and takedowns
Requirements: OSSD and one year relevant experience, or three years related experience
Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
Basic Arena Refrigeration and Safe Ice Resurfacer Courses
Minor carpentry, equipment maintenance, and repair skills
Availability for scheduled, emergency, on-call, and after-hours response
Support Meaford’s public spaces and arena operations through equipment operation, seasonal maintenance, ice resurfacing, and secure work practices.
