Cost Controller

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Job Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities
Assemble project performance packages that include estimates at completion, estimates to complete, earned-value indices, and cost/schedule variances, partnering closely with the planning function.
Build and refresh budget projections, cash-flow forecasts, and regular financial summaries covering monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
Monitor expenditures through every stage of the project, identify discrepancies early, and recommend corrective steps.
Maintain the change register, quantify the cost effects of scope adjustments, and incorporate approved changes into the working budget.
Collect, cross-check, and confirm financial submissions received from contractors and subcontractors.
Verify the correctness of disbursements, open commitments, invoices, and purchase orders.
Contribute to the improvement of tools, methods, and day-to-day practices used for cost management.




Participate in assessing the financial viability of projects in development and in examining financial models.

Requirements
Degree in mechanical, industrial, or civil engineering.
5+ years performing cost-control work in an EPCM setting on mining or natural-resource projects.
Thorough understanding of engineering controls, cost control, project accounting, and project reporting.
High analytical ability with solid attention to detail.
Ability to organize work and make sound decisions.
Solid spoken and written French.
