Support student success as an Academic Advisor at Mount Royal University in Calgary, using developmental advising and sound judgment.
This full-time replacement term position works 35 hours weekly and is expected to conclude December 2027. You will advise current, continuing, and prospective students through academic goals, program selection, degree requirements, and graduation. The work requires holistic, inclusive, student-centered practice, strong communication, and collaboration with Faculty leaders and campus partners.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver proactive advising supporting student retention and success
Build personalized educational plans through guided exploration
Interpret policies, prerequisites, deadlines, and program pathways




Perform degree audits and monitor academic progress
Refer students to campus supports and services
Requirements: Three or four year Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Two to three years related post-secondary experience preferred
One-to-one client experience in a post-secondary environment
Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills
Robust Microsoft Office and Google knowledge
Bring developmental advising, relationship-building, and accurate academic guidance to students across Mount Royal University.
