You will work in small, safety-focused teams to build and finish the grid, install related mechanical components, and support commissioning and go-live activities. Assemble and install multiple conveyor systems and a mechanical grid structure according to engineering specifications and installation plans. Install and complete all elements of the grid automation system, including grid install, cladding, false bottom totes, grid finishing, peripheral stations, maintenance areas, and charging stations. Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete mechanical assembly and installation tasks with a high level of accuracy. Work in small teams to coordinate tasks, share information, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Operate or work alongside operators of scissor lifts and other access equipment to perform installation work at heights as required. Support commissioning activities and go-live preparation by assisting with final checks, adjustments, and troubleshooting of installed systems. Follow all site safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices at heights, and adherence to construction site rules. Read and interpret measurements, levels, and alignment requirements using tools such as measuring tapes, levels, and squares to ensure precise installation. Participate in required equipment certifications, including scissor lift certification, and comply with requirements for forklift-licensed personnel on the team. At least 3 years of experience in conveyor installation, construction labour, millwright work, welding, or similar mechanical installation roles. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to assemble and install mechanical systems with precision. Proven experience using hand and power tools in a construction or industrial environment. Experience working in heavy-duty or industrial construction environments, including active construction sites. Experience operating forklifts and aerial work platforms (AWP), such as boom lifts or scissor lifts, is a strong asset. Formal forklift license is highly valued; at least one in every three workers on the team must hold a valid forklift license. Background in millwrighting, welding, or similar mechanical trades is an advantage. Experience with basic controls or automation-related mechanical systems is beneficial.

Comfort working on a construction site, including navigating uneven surfaces, noise, and ongoing construction activities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality installation work. You will join a long-term project that offers consistent work and the opportunity to build substantial hands-on experience in a modern distribution facility. The role provides significant overtime potential, with the ability to work up to 60 hours during peak periods, supporting strong earnings for those who want additional hours. High-performing team members have the opportunity to be considered for permanent roles or to transition to new projects, creating a clear path for ongoing employment and career growth. This position is based on a construction-style site within a new distribution facility, focused on installing a large mechanical grid and conveyor system. The standard schedule runs from approximately 07:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, with the expectation that additional hours or schedule changes may be required. During peak periods, you may work up to 60 hours per week, typically as five 12-hour shifts or six 10-hour shifts, depending on project needs. You will work in an industrial workplace that may involve noise, dust, and ongoing construction activity, and you may be required to work on platforms and at heights. Scissor lifts are used regularly, and some team members will operate forklifts as part of the installation process.
