You will determine safe cluster limits, analyze resource profiles, and develop control plane scaling patterns. You will also turn recurring runtime failures into systemic fixes.
Key Responsibilities: Isolate workloads by criticality and resource profile
Determine protected operating limits for each cluster
Develop control plane scaling patterns for bursty workloads
Analyze CPU, memory, disk, and network resource profiles
Participate in on-call for Kubernetes runtime issues
Requirements: Five-plus years running Kubernetes in production at scale
Experience with Amazon EKS across many clusters
Strong understanding of pod lifecycle and disruption management
Production debugging skills and systemic incident-fixing ability
Experience quantifying availability, latency, and cost impacts
Bring EKS platform engineering, Kubernetes scheduling, and resource analysis skills to improve workload safety across Affirm’s Canadian fleet.
