Support safe plant operations at TransAlta’s Kingston Generating Facility as an Operating Technician in Kingston, Ontario. Bring power equipment expertise and industrial systems experience.
This full-time, salaried position reports to the Operations Manager and supports the facility’s reliable, efficient operation. You will monitor generation equipment, coordinate maintenance activities, maintain records, and contribute to outage planning. The work requires strong safety awareness, operational judgment, and collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities: Monitor and operate auxiliary systems and generation equipment
Coordinate operations and maintenance activities with internal teams
Administer LOTO, confined-space, and hot-work processes




Contribute to outage planning and equipment improvements
Record plant activities and complete regulatory documentation
Requirements: First or Second Class Operating Engineer Certificate
Five years’ operating experience in generation or large industry
Understanding of plant operations and maintenance practices
Strong communication, teamwork, and operational recordkeeping skills
Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and excellence
Use plant operations knowledge, maintenance coordination, and secure work practices to support TransAlta’s Kingston station performance.
