Operate excavators safely on deep utility projects with Volker Stevin in Calgary and surrounding areas. Bring heavy civil construction experience and underground expertise.

Reporting to the Foreman, this Excavator Operator supports civil construction work involving water, storm, and sanitary sewer infrastructure. You will operate excavators and other heavy equipment, complete equipment checks, and collaborate with ground personnel. The work requires accurate trench excavation, proper line and grade, and compliance with OH&S; regulations. Deep Utilities experience is preferred for this hands-on position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment safely
- Complete daily maintenance and pre-operational equipment checks
- Excavate trenches to correct depth and grade




- Coordinate pipe installation with ground personnel
- Follow protected rigging and material-lowering procedures

Requirements:

- At least two years operating excavators
- At least three years heavy civil construction experience
- Valid Class 5 Operator’s License and acceptable Driver’s Abstract
- Knowledge of underground construction materials and processes
- Ability to lift and carry at least 20 pounds regularly
