Build embedded C and C++ functionality for Ciena’s 6500 system, working on real-time operating systems and network infrastructure. Contribute across development, testing, debugging, and maintenance.

As a Software Engineer, you will support the full software development lifecycle for Ciena’s flagship Packet Optical Transport Portfolio. The work spans recent functionality, defect reduction, scripts, test utilities, documentation, and development aids. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, product verification, and test teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Previous internship, co-op, or relevant applied project experience
- Embedded C and C++ programming experience
- Fundamentals of structured programming and design concepts
- Interest, aptitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn
