This Education Assistant works under classroom teacher or Learning Support Teacher direction. The position supports individualized plans, learning spaces, personal safety, and student care. Assignments may involve students with autism, learning disabilities, challenging behaviours, or multiple handicapping conditions.
Key Responsibilities: Implement IEP adaptations and strategies under teacher direction
Support students in classrooms or learning support rooms
Maintain vigilance for student and staff safety
Provide personal assistance, care, positioning, or wheelchair transfers




Implement behaviour safety plans when required
Requirements: Grade 12 graduation
Post-secondary Special Education Assistant training or related courses
Recent experience and training supporting ABA programs
Effective relationships with parents, teachers, and exceptional-needs students
Ability to support diverse physical, social, and cognitive needs
Bring IEP support, student safety, and special-needs experience to an elementary Education Assistant assignment at Gleneagles Elementary.
