Support first-year Science students in Mathematics at Brock University, communicating course content and assisting with scheduled student contact. Work occurs on campus as needed, with versatile arrangements where possible.
This Teaching Assistant position requires at least third-year completion in a Mathematics program. You will help students understand course material while supporting seminars, consultations, assessment, examinations, and course administration. The appointment is governed by the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare seminar materials for scheduled student contact
Consult with students about course content
Mark or grade assigned student work
Proctor examinations and attend lectures
Hold office hours and complete course administration
Requirements: Complete at least third year in Mathematics
Earn an A standing in Mathematics courses
Hold credit in the listed course or equivalent
Communicate course content effectively to first-year Science students
Work on campus as needed
