Bring fire suppression and gas-powered equipment experience to Davey Tree’s in office crew, working across Canada in remote rail environments.
This Fire Protection Technician position supports infrastructure protection during rail grinder operations. You will operate specialized trucks and rail-mounted equipment while managing potential fire outbreaks. Assignments include steep slopes, uneven ground, dense vegetation, remote crossings, rights-of-way, and rail yards.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct active suppression with hoses and handguns
Deploy chemicals suited to wildfire conditions
Operate rail-mounted prevention and suppression equipment
Work safely near fires and extreme weather
Collaborate during remote and hazardous operations
Requirements: Minimum two years gas-powered equipment experience
Clean provincial driver’s license required
Class 3 air or DZ license
Forest fire experience considered an asset
Willingness to learn and work safely on teams
Use suppression methods, rail equipment, and field safety practices to help protect Canadian rail operations with Davey Tree.
