Operate recycling collection trucks in Charlottetown using safe driving practices, route knowledge, and physical strength. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays required.
Experienced Class 3 Drivers will service residential recycling routes within designated areas. The work includes side-load or rear-load truck operation, manual loading, and frequent lifting throughout each shift. Drivers must maintain accurate records, inspect equipment, and communicate hazards.
Key Responsibilities: Operate side-load or rear-load collection trucks safely
Collect residential waste and recycling materials efficiently
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections
Maintain truck reports and route sheets accurately
Report mechanical issues to mechanics and supervisors promptly
Requirements: Valid Class 1 or 3 PEI licence
Clear driver's abstract
Significant driving experience
Physical ability to handle recycling bundles and bags
Eight-inch CSA-approved steel toe boots
Bring Class 3 driving experience, secure equipment operation, and physical readiness to residential recycling routes throughout Charlottetown.
