Explore biophysics research in Toronto by analyzing tumour and vascular imaging data with OCT, 7T MRI, MATLAB, or Python.
The Vitkin Lab at UHN’s Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking a Co-op student for a temporary full time placement. Working under direct supervision, you will contribute to FLASH radiotherapy research involving tumour biology, normal tissue microvasculature, and multimodal imaging.
Key Responsibilities: Acquire longitudinal tumour and vascular OCT imaging data
Assist image acquisition using small-animal 7T MRI
Quantify imaging results with MATLAB and/or Python
Plan irradiation schedules, imaging timepoints, and controls
Present progress during weekly group meetings
Requirements: Enrollment in biomedical engineering or medical biophysics
Experience with optical imaging or MRI is an asset
Small-animal handling experience is an asset
Interest in scientific writing and literature review
Ability to prioritize concurrent projects and meet deadlines
Build practical research experience with tumour imaging, experimental planning, data analysis, and FLASH radiotherapy at UHN.
