Support healthcare meal preparation at AgeCare Mount Ida Mews using standardized recipes and food safety practices. This is regular part-time work in Salmon Arm, British Columbia.
As a Cook's Helper, you will assist the Cook in a traditional institutional kitchen. The position supports production schedules, meal service, resident diet modifications, recipe compliance, and established quality standards. Work hours are 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, with a rotating schedule.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the Cook with timely food preparation
Follow recipes, portions, procedures, and production schedules
Support beverage service, plating, clearing, and dining-room cleaning
Prepare regular and modified foods for resident diets
Sanitize work areas and maintain kitchen equipment
Requirements: Food Protected Certification Level 1
Nationally recognized food service safety certification
Two years of healthcare Cook or Assistant experience
Fluent English communication, orally and in writing
Experience using institutional kitchen equipment
Bring healthcare kitchen experience, meal preparation skills, and food safety knowledge to AgeCare residents in Salmon Arm.
