Prepare client samples at ALS using sieving, crushing, splitting, and careful production logging in a laboratory environment. Shift work includes weekends.
The Sample Preparation Technician works within ALS’s Sample Preparation Department, preparing samples for laboratory analysis under direct supervision. Duties include ringing, International Soils sieving, crushing, splitting, oven handling, and cleaning. The position follows established procedures, schedules, quality requirements, and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities: Ring, sieve, crush, and split client samples
Load and unload drying ovens under supervision
Maintain individual production logs accurately
Complete general cleaning for laboratory cleanliness
Assist with layout duties and assigned tasks
Requirements: Good hand-eye coordination and organizational skills
Basic alphanumeric comprehension and English communication skills
Ability to work independently or within a team
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to work in hot, dusty conditions
Support ALS laboratory analysis through accurate sample preparation, secure procedures, production records, and dependable physical work.
