Reporting to the Senior Laundry Attendant, the Porter receives, weighs, transports, and handles soiled linens. The position also transports large wheeled linen racks and operates specialized laundry equipment. Patient and staff safety remains a shared responsibility throughout the work.
Key Responsibilities: Receive and weigh soiled linens for laundry processing
Transport and handle soiled linens safely
Transport large wheeled linen racks
Operate the automatic cart washer
Operate cart dumper and heat transfer-labelling machines
Requirements: Grade 10 or equivalent education, training, and experience
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Deal effectively with others
Physical ability to carry out position duties
Commitment to patient and staff safety
Support Victoria Regional Laundry through linen handling, equipment operation, physical ability, and effective communication as a casual Porter.
