Deliver small-animal patient care as an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician with Alta Vista Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centre in Ottawa. Apply anesthesia monitoring and clinical skills.

This full-time Veterinary Technician supports the established General Practice team at Alta Vista Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centre. The experienced position requires at least two years of hospital experience after graduation. You will assist with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, surgeries, dental procedures, and laboratory work while supporting patient and client care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and medical procedures
- Prepare patients, monitor anesthesia, manage pain, and support recovery
- Place IV catheters and administer directed medications, fluids, and treatments




- Collect and process blood, urine, cytology, and laboratory samples
- Educate clients about medications, nutrition, prevention, and home care

Requirements:

- Minimum two years of hospital experience as an RVT
- Active or eligible OAVT registration as a Registered Veterinary Technician
- Solid knowledge of patient care, anesthesia, pharmacology, and procedures
- Technical skills in venipuncture, catheter placement, monitoring, and assessment
- Safe animal handling and restraint using appropriate techniques
