Keep Town of Ajax recreation facilities clean, disinfected, and welcoming while supporting room setups, public assistance, and customer information. Evening and weekend shifts are required.
Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, this regular Custodian position supports general housekeeping throughout an assigned facility. The work includes cleaning floors, washrooms, entrances, mirrors, walls, doors, and glass. You may also prepare rooms for functions, restore them afterward, and assist customers visiting the facility. Three non-union positions are available within Recreation & Culture.
Key Responsibilities: Clean, disinfect, and maintain assigned facility areas
Vacuum, sweep, mop, and wax floors
Wash washrooms, fixtures, mirrors, entrances, and glass




Set up and take down rooms for functions
Provide facility information and assistance to the public
Requirements: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience
Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting
Current Intermediate First Aid with CPR C/AED Certification
Valid Class G Ontario driver's license and transparent abstract
Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and up to 24 hours weekly
Bring dependable housekeeping, communication, and public service skills to facility operations with the Town of Ajax Recreation & Culture team.
