Practice full-spectrum General Internal Medicine at West Coast General Hospital in Port Alberni, with Intensive Care and Coronary Care capabilities.
This permanent specialty position serves a 45,000-population referral base through the Division of Internal Medicine. On-site capabilities include cardiac stress testing, pulmonary function, and 24-hour monitoring. An outpatient practice prospect is also available through the Alberni Internal Medicine clinic.
Key Responsibilities: Provide full-spectrum General Internal Medicine care
Deliver Intensive Care and Coronary Care capabilities
Support inpatient medical responsibility and on-call services
Participate in outpatient practice through the AIM clinic
Teach and supervise medical learners when eligible
Requirements: Eligibility for FRCPC in Internal Medicine
Eligibility for provisional or full British Columbia licensure
USA certification in Internal Medicine
Faculty appointment eligibility with UBC for teaching
