Design 12 kV to 500 kV substations for Qualus from Calgary or Vancouver, applying AutoCAD, MicroStation, and electrical engineering expertise.

As Lead Electrical Designer, you will support Qualus’s T&D; business under the Engineering Manager for Substations. The work spans low and high voltage projects from conception through construction. Your experience will guide calculations, drawings, specifications, vendor reviews, and construction support while maintaining project requirements, budgets, schedules, and secure design practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform electrical design for 12 kV to 500 kV substations
- Develop load, battery, cable, lighting, grounding, and routing calculations
- Prepare one-line diagrams, plans, sections, schedules, and wiring diagrams
- Review documents, vendor submissions,



and project requirements
- Support construction sites, clients, contractors, procurement, and as-builts

Requirements:

- Electrical Engineering Technology degree from a recognized institute or college
- Canadian C.E.T. designation or eligibility for registration
- 12 or more years of electrical design experience
- AutoCAD, MicroStation, lighting design, fire, and security experience
- Knowledge of CSA, NESC, NFPA, and ANSI or IEEE standards
