Support crisis resolution through mental health assessments and crisis intervention as a part time Counsellor Float in London, Ontario. Coverage spans multiple crisis programs.
This permanent, part-time position provides psychosocial responses that promote individual empowerment. You will assess needs, identify safety risks, build therapeutic relationships, and connect individuals with community supports. Services may occur in person, by telephone, virtually, or through mobile response.
Key Responsibilities: Complete mental health and addictions assessments using crisis management theory
Identify psychiatric impacts, safety risks, de-escalation, and stabilization opportunities
Provide crisis intervention through phone, text, and web chat
Coordinate referrals and advocate for access to supports




Provide follow-up bridging referrals to longer-term services
Requirements: College diploma or university degree in a related field
Alternatively, three years’ direct-service experience and related post-secondary education
Valid driver’s licence, insurance, and vehicle access
Current satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Regular attendance and crisis intervention experience preferred
Apply crisis assessment, therapeutic engagement, and coordinated referrals across Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley crisis services.
