This full-time, temporary Welder 2 vacancy supports the City’s SWM Transfer Stations and Landfill Operations. The work includes fabrication, maintenance welding, brazing, cutting, grinding, and repairs across diverse materials. You will also document completed work and provide direction or training.
Key Responsibilities: Perform skilled fabrication and maintenance welding using varied methods
Complete brazing, spray welding, cutting, grinding, and heat treatment
Repair tools, machinery, automotive equipment, and related items
Estimate required equipment and materials for assignments




Prepare sketches, reports, records, and work status updates
Requirements: Maintain Ontario High Pressure Welder Certificate of Qualification
Experience with AC, DC, TIG, MIG, and plasma arc equipment
Experience working safely around hazardous chemicals or gases
Hold a valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence
Read sketches and communicate effectively using computer applications
Bring certified welding, fabrication, cutting, and repair skills to essential City operations at Dufferin Yard.
