Support patients at Alberta Precision Labs’ McKnight PSC through specimen handling, wait-time monitoring, venipuncture, and ECG procedures.
This Medical Laboratory Assistant I position provides high-quality service in a public-facing Patient Service Centre. You will support registered outpatients and community patients while following established laboratory processes. The work combines patient interaction with procurement, handling, processing, dispatching, and testing of specimens in an effective, efficient, and protected manner.
Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality service to clinical laboratory clients
Follow laboratory processes and procedures consistently
Monitor wait times to support patient service




Process and dispatch specimens for laboratory testing
Work independently and with others in patient-focused care
Requirements: Accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program completion or equivalent
Previous phlebotomy experience
ECG Certification
Patient Service Centre experience preferred
Six months of recent ECG experience preferred within two years
Use patient service, specimen processing, phlebotomy, and ECG capabilities in Alberta Precision Labs’ public-facing McKnight PSC.
