Diagnose and repair specialized cranes and support equipment as a Heavy Equipment Technician at Barnhart’s Grande Prairie branch. Work primarily locally, with occasional Fort St. John support. Barnhart seeks a Journeyman or 3rd Year Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic for its maintenance team. The work covers Link-Belt and Tadano cranes, trailers, trucks, and support equipment. You will focus on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across electrical, fuel, hydraulic, suspension, and air brake systems.

Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance Complete oil changes, brake work, tire service, and suspension repairs Support annual crane certification requirements Record maintenance activities using logbooks and tablets Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, hydraulic, and air brake systems

Requirements:
~3rd Year Apprentice or Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification ~ Heavy equipment or crane experience preferred ~ Mechanical aptitude across stated equipment systems ~ Valid driver’s license ~ Ability to work locally Apply your diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance skills to Barnhart’s specialized crane fleet in Grande Prairie.
