Reports To Maintenance Manager Position Summary The Maintenance Team Member is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the greenhouse facility, its mechanical equipment, and its automated systems. This hands-on role ensures that equipment and infrastructure operate safely and efficiently, supporting production goals and the optimal growth and health of the plants. Duties include preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment repair, electrical and plumbing work, irrigation system upkeep, general carpentry, and general facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated systems and mechanical equipment (e.g., seeding, potting, grafting, spacing, table systems, cart and tray washers, and conveyor lines), including calibrations and adjustments.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Monitor and maintain environmental control systems (temperature, humidity, ventilation) and greenhouse equipment such as fans, heaters, boilers, and pumps.
- Maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper water distribution and drainage.
- Perform routine facility maintenance, including cleaning, painting, and repairing structures, plus plumbing, general carpentry, and simple machinist tasks.
- Support equipment setup and changeovers during production changes or seasonal transitions.
- Use hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, safety, and reliability of machinery and workflow.




- Assist in training operators on proper machine use, care, and safety procedures.
- Follow all company safety standards (including lockout/tagout) and uphold Biosecurity policies at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements
- Millwright or Industrial Mechanic certification, apprenticeship in progress, or a technical diploma in a related field (mechanical, industrial maintenance, or similar); equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated or production equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems is an asset.
- Robust problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication in English and strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and documentation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in varying temperatures and humidity.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays and outside regular business hours, including occasional extended hours during peak periods. Pay: $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
