Brightshores seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for its Operating Room, reporting to the Manager and supporting perioperative patient care. This position assesses patient needs, performs accountable nursing activities, manages equipment and supplies according to need, and evaluates outcomes. Applicants need Ontario College of Nurses registration, Operating Room certificate completion, and the ability to scrub in all services. The role also calls for ORNAC knowledge, problem solving, decision making, organization, and urgent response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities: Assess patient needs throughout perioperative care
Demonstrate nursing accountability through secure operating room activities




Utilize equipment and supplies according to identified needs
Evaluate patient outcomes after assigned nursing activities
Contribute to Brightshores’ culture of patient safety
Requirements: Current Ontario College of Nurses registration
Operating Room certificate successfully completed
Preferred minimum of two years’ operating room experience
Proven verbal and written communication skills
Ability to respond to urgent or emergency situations
Bring perioperative nursing judgment, operating room certification, and responsive patient care to Brightshores’ Owen Sound department.
