We’re looking for a dependable, self-motivated Plant Floor Labourer who takes pride in quality workmanship, values open communication, and wants to grow with an established team. Position Overview As a Plant Floor Labourer, you will be a hands-on contributor across our manufacturing and recycling lines—handling lumber sorting, operating pneumatic nailing equipment, and maintaining a fast-paced, organized, and safe workspace. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient—someone who can step onto the floor, takes initiative without constant supervision, and proactively communicates with team leads to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

- Production & Assembly: Safely handle, sort, and process lumber; build, repair, and sort wooden pallets using pneumatic tools and specialized machinery.
- Self-Directed Workflow: Manage individual daily workflow efficiently, spot bottlenecks, and take on tasks proactively as priorities shift across the shop floor.
- Effective Communication: Maintain clear, concise communication with shift supervisors, maintenance staff, and fellow crew members regarding equipment status, lumber quality, or output pacing.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, wear required PPE, and keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet NorthStar Pallet’s rigorous grading and quality standards. What We Are Looking For

Experience:




Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, lumber, construction, or fast-paced industrial environment is an asset (though on-the-job training is provided for the right attitude).
- High Self-Sufficiency: A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, problem-solve on the fly, and stay productive with minimal oversight.
- Strong Communication

Skills:
Fluent English verbal and written communication skills to ensure safety protocols are understood and teamwork remains seamless.
- Physical Stamina & Reliability: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50+ lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks in an industrial warehouse setting.
- Safety Mindset: A proactive approach to workplace safety and a willingness to look out for teammates.
