Care for patients transitioning from acute treatment at the Alternate Health Facility with communication skills and versatile care approaches. Work within North Bay Regional Health Centre’s interprofessional team.

This Personal Support Worker position serves the 40-bed AHF, where patients may transition to rehabilitation, long-term care, retirement homes, or other services. You will support care alongside physicians, nurses, dietary services, environmental services, and Infection Prevention and Control. The site offers acute medicine care comparable to the main facility.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver care to patients requiring transitional support
- Work collaboratively with physicians and nursing professionals
- Use patient-centred approaches for individual care needs




- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving during care
- Maintain safety for patients, workers, and visitors

Requirements:

- Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
- Personal Support Worker Certificate or nursing program completion
- Recent Basic Life Support certificate within twelve months
- Training in dementia care, pharmacotherapy, and mobility
- Ability to work with minimal supervision

Use interpersonal communication, flexibility, and sound judgment to provide respectful transitional care for patients at the AHF.
