Job Overview The Causal/ on-call sub ECE/ITE provides flexible classroom support, helping maintain a welcoming, organized environment for children and supporting teaching activities. Assignments may involve childcare, early childhood education, or special education settings, with duties adapted to classroom needs. Responsibilities
- Support classroom activities and routines, helping children participate and learn in a safe, inclusive setting.
- Assist with childcare and teaching tasks, adapting support for individuals with disabilities and diverse learning needs.
- Communicate clearly in English with children, colleagues, and families, and share relevant updates.
- Organize materials, manage time, and complete classroom records using basic computer operation and writing skills. Your impact: Reliable on-call support helps colleagues sustain consistent classroom routines and attentive care. Position Overview As a casual substitute educator, you may be contacted to help cover:
- Staff sick days or vacation
- Staff breaks
- Occasional staffing shortages
- Additional classroom support when needed Shifts will be offered based on our centre's needs and your availability. Hours are not guaranteed. Qualifications
- Valid BC ECE,



ITE certification
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Criminal Record Check clearance
- Experience working with infants and toddlers

Working Hours
Our centre operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Casual shifts may vary depending on staffing needs, including short shifts for break coverage or longer shifts for staff absences.
