Job Summary We are seeking a Financial Manager to lead the financial operations of our construction and demolition business. This role oversees budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow forecasting and financial controls, while monitoring project costs and profitability.
The Financial Manager will work closely with management, project staff and the company’s external accountant to maintain accurate financial information, identify financial risks and support business decisions. Duties Plan and direct the company’s finance and accounting function, set priorities and deadlines, and monitor and assess its performance Design and put in place financial policies, internal control procedures and accounting systems suited to a multi-project construction business, including cost-tracking and billing processes oversee the production of, monthly financial statements, project cost reports and cost-benefit analyses for the owner Lead the annual budgeting and cash flow planning cycle, and review project cost estimates and adjust them where needed Build and maintain forecasting models to test cash flow scenarios and project profitability before major decisions Review the company’s financial reporting and accounting practices,



and propose improvements to procedures, budgets and controls Make sure the company meets its tax, payroll and regulatory obligations, and alert the owner promptly to financial trends or risks that could affect performance Oversee the work of staff and the accountant and year-end financial statements and tax returns, and track filing and remittance deadlines Skills Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field At least 4 years of experience in accounting or finance At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role Working knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel Solid written and spoken communication skills in English Must be legally eligible to work in Canada Experience with Canadian payroll, CRA, GST/PST, and WorkSafeBC Preferred: A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a relevant master’s degree Experience with job costing and progress billing Pay: $90,700.00-$110,000.00 per year
