Under shift supervisor direction, the Public Safety Dispatcher handles complaints, service requests, and emergency messages. The position records occurrences, incidents, emergency medical system reports, run reports, and correspondence logs. Daily work requires accurate information transmittal and sound judgment.

Operate two-way radio, telephones, and computer terminals
Handle complaints and service requests
Transmit emergency information accurately and promptly
Enter occurrences, reports, incidents, and correspondence logs
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent
Clear criminal records check
At least 21 years of age
CPR/First Aid certification
Minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute
Use active listening, clear communication, computer proficiency, and judgment to support emergency services as a Public Safety Dispatcher.
