CXAi/NCRi are a digitally powered, human delivered Global Customer Experience Management organization with multiple locations in Canada and abroad. We provide a wide range of business solutions to help businesses thrive. We are sought-after solutions partner for Omni Channel CX, Digital Transformation, Consulting and Technology solutions.
About the Role
We are hiring a SaaS Solution Architect to own the technical design of the enterprise CRM and other relatable project that supports our operations. Our SaaS services have been built over seven years, it is a microservices platform (Python/Django, Angular, MySQL, Elasticsearch) that holds customer records, runs account receivable and collections workflows, and integrates with mailers, dialers and credit bureaus. You will be accountable for its architecture: how it is structured, how it connects to everything around it, and how it evolves. We seek someone who excels in adapting to a complex system, understanding its design, and planning a safer transition to a cleaner architecture without disrupting the teams that rely on it daily. What You Will Do Take over and stabilize (first 90 days)
- Run structured knowledge transfer with the outgoing owner and long-standing users and capture design decisions and their reasons as architecture decision records (ADRs).
- Reverse-engineer the as-is architecture: the Django microservices behind the API gateway, the service registry and configuration service, the connector layers (database, search, document, workflow, identity), and the Angular front end.
- Produce current-state artifacts: system context and microservice dependency diagrams, an entity-relationship model of the MySQL schema, Elasticsearch index mappings, and data lineage.
- Assess technical debt and risk; gaps between documented and deployed architecture, undocumented customizations, fragile mailer, dialer and credit bureau integrations, single points of failure, performance limits, and security or compliance gaps.
- Establish baselines for performance, search indexing, data quality and API usage so later changes can be measured. Own the architecture (ongoing)
- Act as design authority for the CRM: review and approve changes to microservice boundaries, the MySQL schema, Elasticsearch index design and BPMN workflow definitions before they ship.
- Own the integration architecture for mailer systems (SMTP or email service), dialer systems, credit bureau connections (REST and legacy SOAP) and client file exchanges, using API-led, resilient patterns with retries, error handling and monitoring.
- Own the data architecture: schema design through the Django ORM, synchronization between MySQL and Elasticsearch, document storage across file system, AWS S3, Azure Blob or on-prem backends, retention and archiving, and data flows to reporting.
- Own the workflow architecture:
BPMN process models, approvals and task flows, and the connector that keeps the workflow engine replaceable.
- Set non-functional requirements and monitor them: availability, performance, scalability, MySQL failover and connection pooling, search throughput, backup and disaster recovery.
- Build security and privacy in by design: SSO through LDAP/Active Directory, SAML and OAuth 2.0, role-based access control, encryption and audit logging, with compliance for debtor data under PIPEDA, CASL and applicable collections regulation.
- Govern environments and releases across services: service discovery, centralized configuration, regression testing, CI/CD where available, and rollback plans. Shape the target state
- Translate requirements from Collections, Operations, Client Services, Compliance and Leadership into solution designs with clear trade-offs, effort and risk.
- Define a target-state architecture and a phased roadmap that retires legacy customizations and pays down technical debt.
- Keep the connector abstraction layers (database, search, document, workflow, identity) genuinely engine-independent, so MySQL, Elasticsearch, storage backends and BPMN engines stay swappable.
- Run options analyses refactor, re-platform, replace or migrate, with total cost of ownership, risk and sequencing.
- Apply build-versus-buy and configure-versus-code discipline to keep the platform maintainable.
- Set design standards and mentor developers, admins and vendors through reviews and guidance. Architecture Domains You Will Own Application Architecture
