The Opportunity Nicholson has an immediate opening for full-time CNC Machine Operators at our manufacturing plant in Sidney, British Columbia. The position offers compensation of $36.33/hour with extended health benefits and pension provided through the Machinists Local 3 union. Nicholson provides safety training, on the job training and opportunities for career growth. Requirements
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.




- Good knowledge of Epicor.
- Experience with 5S and lean manufacturing practices an asset.
- Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills required.
- Work well under pressure, both independently and in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and available for shift work as needed.
- Experience with Epicor, Mazak and Fanuc controls are considered an asset. Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of CNC machines to perform repetitive operations.
- Accurately verify dimensions using precision measuring tools.
- Ability to work in a quick paced manufacturing environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work space.
- Physically lift parts weighing up to 50 LBS on occasion and stand for the duration of the shift.
- Read blueprints and drawings.
- Follow very precise specifications with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work afternoon shifts.
- Actively participate in, and contribute to, continuous improvement and safety initiatives in the workplace.
