Golf Operations Manager Seasonal, Salaried Managerial Position

Based on an original 1929 Donald Ross plan and opened in 1932, the course serves members, resort guests, visitors and the local community. We are seeking a capable, hands-on Operations Manager to lead and coordinate our overall seasonal operation. This position is broader than a traditional Pro Shop Manager role and provides an opportunity to help shape the club’s operating team, service standards and future direction. - The Operations Manager is White Point Golf’s senior operational leader and is accountable for overseeing all aspects of golf operations, including management of the Pro Shop, and delivery of player/guest programs in coordination with the Course Superintendent.
- Reporting to the Board of Directors, the manager will translate Board-approved priorities, policies and budgets into effective daily operations.
- The successful candidate will lead staffing and employee performance, oversee the Pro Shop and member services, manage operational budgets and systems, and provide a consistent, positive experience for members and guests.

Key Responsibilities
Operational leadership
- Lead and coordinate the club’s overall operation.
- Develop and implement seasonal operating plans.
- Manage the Pro Shop, administration, tournaments and member services.
- Maintain effective communication between the Pro Shop and Course Superintendent.
- Report operational performance, risks and recommendations to the Board. Staffing and employee management

- Establish clear employee roles and expectations.
- Lead the recruitment, selection and supervision of Pro Shop, administration and other seasonal employees.

- Ensure effective tee-sheet management and golfer check-in.
- Oversee Lightspeed Golf and Retail processes.
- Monitor memberships, green fees, rentals, retail and food-and-beverage sales.
- Maintain appropriate controls over cash, inventory, discounts, refunds and customer accounts.
- Coordinate tournaments, leagues, outings and special events.
- Coordinate with White Point Lodge any large bookings, wedding parties or corporate events.
- Coordinate the development and growth of the club’s Junior program.
- Ensure members and guests receive professional and consistent service.
- Ensure that appropriate safety and code of conduct policies and procedures are in place and being followed.
- Maintain open communications with the Course Superintendent to coordinate club operations around tournaments and events.
- Ensure timely communication to members and guests regarding course conditions, frost delays, cart restrictions and closures. Financial and administrative management
- Prepare an annual operating budget
- Manage operations within the approved budget.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, staffing and purchasing.
- Review monthly financial results and maintain a year-end forecast.
- Approve routine purchases within delegated limits.
- Coordinate with the Treasurer and external bookkeeping provider.
- Ensure operational and financial information is accurate and submitted on time.
- Develop recommendations for significant equipment and capital investments. Membership and customer service
- Maintain exceptional and consistent member and guest service standards.
- Oversee membership administration and account accuracy.
- Implement approved membership, refund and customer-service policies.
- Manage customer concerns to resolve complaints professionally.
- Monitor member feedback and recommend service improvements.
- Ensure operational communications are accurate and timely. Facilities, systems and risk
- Coordinate facilities, equipment and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain appropriate health and safety procedures.
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers and service providers. The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Degree or Diploma in Golf Management, Recreation, Business Administration or related field,



or management experience in golf, hospitality, recreation, tourism, retail or another seasonal operation.
- Golf industry experience or ability to develop that knowledge quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting, scheduling, supervising and evaluating employees.
- Robust operational-planning and organizational skills.
- Experience preparing or managing budgets.
- Experience with POS, scheduling or business-management systems.
- Sound judgment when dealing with employees, members and operational issues.
- First Aid, CPR and WHMIS training would be an asset. Detailed agronomic expertise is not required, as this responsibility resides with the Course Superintendent. What we are looking for The right candidate will be

- This is a seasonal salaried management position expected to begin during the pre-season staffing and planning period.
- The anticipated term is approximately March through November, with the specific start date and seasonal schedule to be confirmed.
- Regular full-time availability will be required during the operating season. The position will require some early-morning, evening and weekend responsibilities. Pre-season and season-close hours may vary based on operational requirements.

salary:
$40,000-$50,000 for the employment term, based on qualifications and experience.
- Applicable vacation pay and employment conditions will be included in the employment agreement.
