Progress creates a career prospect in Brandon, Manitoba. MACHINIST (RED SEAL) Responsibilities Include:
· Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings.
· Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
· Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, setup and repair of machinery.
· Inspect and examine equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
· Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
· Operate machine tools such as lathes and mills to fabricate parts/tools/fixtures required during overhaul, maintenance or set up of machinery.
· Perform other routine preventative maintenance on machinery




· Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation
· Work with preventative maintenance programs and keep proper maintenance records
