Build embedded C and C++ functionality for Ciena’s 6500 system, working on real-time operating systems and network infrastructure. Contribute across development, testing, debugging, and maintenance.
As a Software Engineer, you will support the full software development lifecycle for Ciena’s flagship Packet Optical Transport Portfolio. The work spans new functionality, defect reduction, scripts, test utilities, documentation, and development aids. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, product verification, and test teams.
Key Responsibilities: Develop recent C and C++ functionality for real-time devices

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
Previous internship, co-op, or relevant applied project experience
Embedded C and C++ programming experience
Fundamentals of structured programming and design concepts
Interest, aptitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn
Apply embedded C++, real-time software, and lifecycle development skills to Ciena’s 6500 networking platform.
