About the Role
Our client, a global manufacturer of specialized electrical equipment, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Test Engineer for their facility in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This key role involves the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive testing procedures and protocols for a wide range of electrical products. You will be responsible for ensuring product quality, reliability, and compliance with international standards through rigorous testing and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical principles, experience with test automation, and exceptional analytical skills. Key Responsibilities

Design and develop test plans, procedures, and specifications for electrical products.

Set up and operate electrical test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and function generators.

Develop automated test scripts and systems using relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW).

Conduct functional, performance, and environmental testing of electrical components and systems.

Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and provide detailed reports with recommended solutions.

Collaborate with R&D; and production teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues identified during testing.

Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ISO)



and quality management systems.

Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Mentor junior test engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical testing and validation, preferably in product development.

Proficiency with electrical test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Experience with test automation software (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python).

Strong understanding of electrical theory, circuit analysis, and component behavior.

Knowledge of quality assurance principles and product certification processes.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in the Northern Cape facility.
