About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused Leasing Agent to join our growing team in Halifax Regional Municipality. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills, and is driven to achieve leasing targets while delivering an excellent rental experience. As a Leasing Agent, you will be responsible for marketing available rental units, coordinating property viewings, communicating with prospective tenants, and guiding applicants through the leasing process from initial inquiry to move-in. The successful candidate will be proactive, qualified, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple properties and leasing opportunities throughout HRM.

Key Responsibilities

- Respond promptly to rental inquiries by phone, email, and online platforms.
- Coordinate and conduct property viewings for prospective tenants.
- Market available rental units across rental listing websites and other advertising platforms.
- Follow up with prospective tenants to convert inquiries and viewings into completed leases.
- Screen rental applicants in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation.
- Prepare and coordinate lease agreements, applications, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of inquiries, viewings, applications, and leasing activity.
- Coordinate with the property management team to ensure units are ready for occupancy.
- Communicate professionally with prospective tenants and provide timely updates throughout the application process.
- Monitor market conditions, rental rates,



and competing listings to support effective leasing strategies.
- Meet leasing targets and contribute to overall occupancy goals.
- Provide regular updates on leasing activity, available units, and prospective tenant follow-ups.
- Travel between properties throughout HRM as required. Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in leasing, residential property management, real estate, or customer service is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping abilities.
- Proficiency with computers, email, and online advertising platforms.
- A professional and approachable manner when dealing with prospective tenants.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation required.
- Knowledge of the Halifax rental market is considered an asset. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes initiative, follows through on commitments, and understands that successful leasing requires more than simply showing apartments.
